How gamification can help your rehab work more effectively

Updated: Aug 25, 2021

Getting treatment that is gamified increases the likelihood of success of rehabilitation. But why?

Game-based physiotherapy focuses on improving patient experience, engagement and fun by integrating gaming principles with traditional treatment.

When we undergo therapy via games, we disengage from the therapeutic environment and devote ourselves entirely to the game experience. We are thus able to divert attention from the pain and instead, associate therapy with entertainment. Through gamification, one is rewarded for a particular action and feels a sense of accomplishment. Patients will feel motivated to persist with their treatment, thus increasing their chances of success.

In conclusion, rehabilitation isn't a game, but it can be real fun!
